Bacolod known as the City of Smile, will be celebrating the annual MassKara Festival for this year on October 21 and 22, 2017. Known as one of the largest and colorful festivital in the Philippines, Masskara had drawn both local and foreign tourist to grab a map and come to the city of Bacolod.

Ticket rate of P675 is inclusive of free meals and 75-kilo baggage personal allowance. However linens and Value Added Tax is not included.

TARA NA’T MAKISAYA SA MASSKARA!!!
The word MassKara originated from the root work Mass (Masses), which means people and the root word Cara or face, thus the word MassKara come from.
Celebration starts at the onset of the month of October 1, 2017 to the culminating date on the 22nd . The event features activities like carnivals, trade fair and exhibit, beauty pageant and highlighted with the street dancing. Done in colorful costumes inspired by the festivals of Brazil and Rio de Janiero, topped with equally colorful and unique designed headdress. Another new event started this year is the “Electric Zumba sa MassKara”. Participants will be wearing colorful lighted attires parading around the Tourist Strip on October 20 and 21, 2017.

From key cities like Manila, Cebu, Davao, Bacolod is accessible both by air, via Cebu Pacific, Air Asia and Philippine Airlinesand by boat via 2Go and Fastcraft for some destinations like Bacolod to Iloilo.

The church is famed by Life Magazine as the Church of the Angry Jesus since painting done by Negrense Abstract Expressionist Alfonso Osorio depicts Christ on Judgement Day. The church had earned popularity not by just the negativity it exudes to parishioners at one look but more on the architectural beauty, ethnic design and religious docile presence. Such a collaboration of renown personalities like, Ade Bethuni a Belgian Catholic Liturgical Artist, Czech-American Architect Antono Raymund, Arcadio Anore and Benjamin Velasco, an Ilongo sculpture-carpenter responsible for the Wooden Crucifix, Station of the Cross, and images of Joseph and Mary.
